Llyud was pissed off which was why he was slower than what he should have been...and weaker. When he got angry, his benefit seemed to weaken and now he had calmed himself.

Not a moment too soon to because apparently the ninja wasn't in the crater, he was next to him...holding a dagger to his throat.

Llyud's time in Clan Sisic facing off with assasins kicked in as he moved his arm up at a blinding rate to the point where you couldn't see it. He shoved the man's arm backward before grabbing it and twisitng it. He then pulled out his own dagger and thrust it next to the man's throat.

Llyud's grip on the assasin tightened and he twisted the arm farther. He took his knife and pushed the tip into the neck so that the man started to bleed just a little.

"In clan Sisic, we never accepted defeat. If we were at the point of defeat, we would put our lives on the line to wound the foe as much as possible for the next group to finish them off. I was in every advance group set out. And I know that doing things half-way can lead to much, much worse things than defeat."

Llyud's temper had begun to flare again but he kept it in check. He still sounded pissed off as he said, "Now that we are both in comfortable positions, why the hell are you tring to kill a defenseless kid!"

He added, "And don't try any more of that copying crap because I will still get you and pummel you!"

"Really, now? It doesn't matter which clan you're from, boy. You're still dirt like the rest of them," the assasin called, out from the distance. Res stood several yards away from the boy, who also happened to be holding another Res in his grasp.

The afterimage in the archer's arms promptly faded into oblivion. Res reappeared directly behind the boy, daggers in both hands. Swiftly, he brought one blade to the boy's back, and the other to his neck, forearms crossed. Res chuckled inwardly. Didn't the boy ever learn? And Res was beginning to think he'd gotten accustomed to his little tricks, as trivial as they were. Res sighed in pallid remorse. This was going to be too easy. Res slowly spread his tongue across his lips.

"I gave you that one. Now sit back and watch the rest of your friends die from the best seat in the house." Res whispered into his ear. The assassin swiftly reached into his red cloak and pulled out a countless number of daggers, before hurling the blades at their targets, in endless volleys. The air turned black as the daggers filled the sky.

Res reapplied his grip onto the boy's neck, his hands cold and remorseless as steel. In fact, they were steel. His grip tightened, and as he lifted the boy higher into the air, his crimson sleeve dropped from his arm. And what was there was not a human arm, not one of flesh and blood, but one of metal and iron. Res used his other arm to pull back the hood of his red cloak, revealing his concealed nature.

Res was not human.

FLASHBACK:
Res was a premier model. Custom made, custom fit, custom-just-about-everything. Manufactured in a distant, unnamed land, Res was specifically built for one thing: killing. He, or to be more exact, it, was one of the legendary Vodalka, three mythical machines that were animated by magical energies. Because of the magic flowing through their steel, they could mimic practically everything a human could do, and then some. They could eat, breathe, talk, sleep, and most importantly, think for themselves. But once activated, they took no orders. They in a sense, became a new person. Res, built to be the killer he was, didn't take kindly to his makers. He met his makers: and made them a little bit more than dead. But he had no thoughts, no memories, for he was new to this world. So he set out what his urging subconscious told him what to do: end as many lives as possible. Time passed, and he made a name for himself among the ranks of the Caylia Legion.

Res: the Harbinger of Death.

OOC: We'll see about that later. For now, we have to get past this story arc.

Res tightened his vicegrip on the boy's neck, to the point that the assassin was sure he would cause irreversible damage. This was the one thing Res pitied about humans: they were just so squishy sometimes. Pathetic meatbags. All that fluid and meat sloshing around in that humanoid form made him a little bit sick. Suddenly, the instruments on the side of Res's glistening metallic scalp perked up instantly. His cold, white eyes darted to the right in response, only to catch the Itou man dashing straight at him, calling the name of a spell he had not heard before. The boy was quick. He would have little time to counter.

But Res was faster. Time seemed to slow down for the assassin as his metallic arm shot out toward the Itou boy's radiantly glowing wrist. His fingers felt flesh, and they instinctively tightened. Res took a vicious grasp of the boy's arm, and used all of his inhuman strength to hurl him across the barren land.

"Your strength is impressive," Res called, hoping that those human ears could hear him.

"But it lacks precision."

"You're right!" Itou yelled. He slammed his feet into the ground and stone spikes set his feet in place. "2nd Sutra: Seiten Taisei's Prison!" Large spikes sped forward towards Res, entangling his extended arm and two large boulders rose from the ground and closed in on the Vodalka.

OOC: GO ITOU!

tamah had jumped on the back of the metal man and proceeded to stab the knife in various joint areas, such as the neck, underarm, temple, etcetra. assuming the robot thing had the same weak points as humans, since it was in a huminoid form, she then started trying to puncture the base of his neck with his knife. she also assumed that the spine area was where most of the commands were sent to the robot's mind, and since a upper spine injury could paralize you for life...

"2nd surta: seiten taisei's prison!" the man -itou, she believed- shouted, and instantly she felt the ground rumble, the vibrations moving through the metal man. she jumped away as boulders larger than her errupted from the ground, closing in on the thing. tamah took a couple deep breaths as the boulders seemed to contain it, if only for a moment. she ran.

"hey, kid! hey!" she ran towards the poisioned boy. as she plopped down onto one knee, she realized she still didn't know his name. wasn't this the same kid who she helped pull away from a flying rock, or whatever it was? the boy seemed to be pale, or maybe he was naturally like that. she propped his head against her knee, and pulled out her water canteen, obviously stolen. "here, drink," she said, putting the canteen to his lips. as she did she could've sworn she felt the ground rumble again, but it could have been different this time. this time it was almost like a pulse, like the earth had a heatbeat. it could have been her own heart, but...

ooc: CLIFFHANGERS FTW!
i ended meh post so that it's pretty much the exact same ending situation as cram's. that way if someone wanted to do something, they don't have to be worried about me swerving their ideas the other way (hope that made sense...)
... wow, longest post i've made in a long time... ^^;

ATC sensed commotion from the building he had passed not that long ago...it was about half a mile from his location, but there something about the fact that he was even remembering this place specifically that was disturbing...so he thought to himself
"It's weird, why do I feel it, and know it's from there specifically? Something tells me there would've been a lot of chaos breaking loose and trouble for me if I decided to rest there...no, even with me not there, that means someone else is in trouble...*sigh* only one way to make sure"

Relunctantly, he started heading back.

"Besides, mabye I can get more leads on the Sanctuary place"

OOC: Honestly, who the hell saw this post coming?

Llyud could feel the crushing grip of the metallic being around his neck and the edges of his vision were turning black. He couldn't breath but he went limp to reduce oxygen usage of his body. There was obviuosly no use in resisting this being. It was built to kill, that much was for sure. The only thing he did do voluntarily was keep his hands around the hands grabbing him to reduce as much pressure as possible but to little avail.

His vision blackened.
He was starved for air.
He struggled to move.
He couldn't feel his legs.
His vision blackened.
The poison had taken affect. Llyud passed out breathing so slowly he seemed to be dead and his pulse dropped to a near stand still.

OOC: Oh Noes!
OOC Again: no one did

tamah whipped her head around. "llyud? what in set's name are you doing now?" she demanded as she almost dropped the boy's head that was in her lap. she quickly remembered he was there, set him down again, and rushed over to llyud. "dying so soon, old man?" she asked, her voice breaking as she poured some water on him to wake him up a little. "hey, mister drunk? should i press the same chi points you did earlier, or should i press different ones to make the poison slow down?" she asked, nervousness creeping into her voice. "just tell me what to do while you fight!

Res felt the life of the boy in his grasp fade. He grinned. Now there was one less target. He unceremoniously discarded the body onto the ground with a dull thump, leaving a small cloud of dust in his wake. The assassin felt something patter against his back. Curious, Res turned around to see the face of a young girl, face contorted in seriousness, stabbing at him with a small knife. The weapon did nothing to harm him: in fact, the Vodalka barely felt it. Res smiled, revealing his set of unnaturally white "teeth," as the knife in the girl's grasp shot straight toward him. Res's hand shot out toward the girl's wrist, and tightened as he pulled her arm into him. The silver knife smashed directly into his torso with incredible force. Of course, the inferior substance could never hope to penetrate his enchanted metal. The distinctive clang of shattering metal filled the air. Shards of broken metal littered the ground, some sharp ends sticking upward from the earth as they fell into the ground. Res quickly released his iron grip on the woman's wrist, and delivered a crushing backhand to the side her face with the other.

"One more down." Res whispered. Suddenly, his eyes took notice of the wall of thorns now reaching out towards his arm.

"One more to go."

The thorn-covered vines wrapped across his extended arm and attempted to wrench it off, as they tugged and pulled with all of their arcane might. But neither Res, nor his arm, moved an inch. As the thorns raked across his enchanted steel, they snapped, becoming little less than dull stubs. The assassin reeled back his arm: the vines quickly snapped under the strain. Res slipped the remains off his arm when he caught sight of two rocks flying directly at him. The robotic assassin's eyes narrowed. The boulders were relatively huge: he would have little time to hit them the exact location to destroy them. As the boulders flew closer, Res leapt off the ground and slammed a powerful kick into one of the massive rocks. It immediately shattered into pebbles and debris. The other rock continued to fly at the assassin, but Res was all too prepared for that one as well. Using the rest of his momentum, the assassin delivered another kick into the other boulder, sending at back towards its summoner, the Itou man. Res landed silently and gracefully back onto the ground, completely unscathed.

"Impressive. You never cease to amuse me."

After tamah shouted at the drunk, who was too busy with the robot to handle, she whipped her head to the robot. "And you! You owe me a new knife, you clunky overrated hot-headed wannabe!" she had no idea what that meant, but it sounded good. I'm just glad that wasn't Kiki's knife, tamah sighed to herself. But still! That was one of my switchblades! Dirty robot thing,she cursed the robot in her mind. Gods, she wished that she was blessed with some kind of magic. If anything, she was fast, but her attacks were obviously not effective against a crazy robot thing. The robot was built by mortal hands, right?

Mortal hands.

If it was built by mortals, and even better, humans, that meant there had to be some kind of command receiver, right? Most likely the head, where the brain was stored. Assuming that the human hands that built the guy built him to seem as human as possible, there seemed to be pretty good chances that the robot's brain was its control center, and probably its most vital point. But it probably had good defenses. The skull of the robot, as she experienced firsthand, was pretty hard. Her hands were growing bruises to prove it. But it was probably the best shot they had.

"Hey, mister drunk! Try to take out his brain! Take his brain out of his head! Maybe he'll slow down or something!" she shouted. Oh gods, what was this guy targeting the boy for, anyways? Why was he targeting them in the first place? And why did she decide to stay in town "for a little longer" even though her instincts told her not to?

"HOLY MOTHER OF-" Itou jumped as high as he could and kicked off the debris with the agility of a cat. When he landed perfectly, he exclaimed, " "Woah! I didn't even know I could do that!"
"30th Sutra Lighting Storm!"
Sutras coiled from his feet and enveloped the area, the Vodalka would not be able to dodge this.

OOC: no need to b*tch fit about ATC still there, it's not like I can just make him teleport half a mile to where you guys are in the moment...wait a sec..

ATC's hearing was amplified for some reason when he heard some weird stuff like "HOLY MOTHER OF-...Whoa! I didn't even know I could do that! 30th Sutra Lighting Storm!".

ATC made a decision, and made it quick.."I'm going to shut up that guy, fast, I'm going deaf at this rate..." This amplified hearing was actually the work of the gods, not ATC, it was their call for him to "DO SOMETHING BESIDES SIT UNDER A ****** TREE DARNIT!" And so he ran, fast, faster than normal fast..faster than (OOC: ok fine, you get the idea, think adreneline rush here or something). So fast, he reached the area in mere seconds, and sliced the boulder Itou was standing on, in one quick motion. He took a small look around and thought, "what the heck happened here! It seemed like mere fistfights when I walked past here..."

OOC: uselessness, but now ATC is in the area, and Itou's going to fall if he just stands there (this is after clearly after he casted the Lighting Storm so now we just wait for Sickling) and still remember that last part when he's in the area is all taking place in a SPLIT-second (also why he's thinking and not talking, I'd like to see someone who can say all of that in a split second)

2nd OOC: happy? I finally did something, and think of that work of the gods as Cram IRL xD

Llyud lay completely motionless. His breathing had dropped to one slow and shallow breath every three minutes as his body attempted to resist the effects of the poison rampaging throughout his body. He took another shallow breath.

To Llyud, his time passed out seemed to go on for ages. He still thought of the bow that lay in splinters right next to him and he wondered what made it so special.

*****FLASHBACK******

Llyud stood staring straight ahead as his father approached him with the bow of his ancestors.

"This bow has been passed down among the generations of our family all the way back to the first person in our bloodline. It has only been bestowed upon those with a higher benefit of the body than the soul."

"You, Llyud, my son, have no benefit of the soul."

His father knelt before him and presented the bow to Llyud.

"Take this bow and use it. It has hidden strengths that you yourself must learn to tap into."

Llyud accepted the bow and held it out in front of him.

******END FLASHBACK********

Llyud pictured that moment in his mind as he lay unconscious. He could feel his ancestors bow next to him though it lay in splinters. He could feel it's power emnating from the broken wood. Throughout the years he has owned this bow, he had never sensed a single change in it except that the draw would get stronger as he did.

Llyud's eyes opened up a tiny bit to look at the splinters with blurred vision. There was a bright flash of light which Llyud doubted the others would see or notice and his bow was whole again. There was not a single mark upon the bow, not even the slightest nick or scratch. If only Llyud had the strength to reach out and grab it.

Llyud's eyes closed again and he took another shallow breath.

OOC: No, I am not happy. Take the sarcasm OUT of the RP, and someplace else. Your writing style STILL needs to appear legible: this is not an IM conversation. Sorry for being picky, but this is simply the limit. ATC either needs to pick himself up, dust himself off, and start fresh, or go off into a different dimension. Permanently.

Res grinned. A newcomer had just appeared. Res sensed this was no ordinary man, however: the assassin could just feel it. The "gut" feeling was slight, but still there. The newcomer ought to make things a little more interesting. The instruments on the assassin's pale head sensed the noise of crackling ions all around him. A thunderstorm? In the middle of a desert like this? It was impossible... but a flash of lightning directly in front of him confirmed the assassin's theory. Pockets of electrons naked to the normal eye began forming all around him: but Res already had experience with magic-users like this.

A thunderbolt struck the ground directly beside Res, spurring him into motion. With little time to waste, the robotic assassin quickly dashed at inhuman speeds toward the Itou man. He would have to render the human unconscious: it would be the only way to halt the danger of the ruinous magicstorm. Res tightened the magnetic coils in his legs and leapt several yards into the air, and quickly followed up with a shattering kick to the side of the man's head. The piercing thwack of dull metal against bone sounded across the wasteland. Res sensed something give against his metallic foot: he had to have caused severe damage. Knowing how resilient the human species was, though, Res was sure the man would survive the blow. Still, the blow was sufficient to knock the man unconscious. The man's knees buckled, before his heavy body thumped against the earth with a dull thud. At once, the lightning magicstorm instantly stopped. The ominous dark clouds promptly cleared and disappeared, as if a storm had never occurred in the first place, leaving the color of fresh blue as the sky.

Res stepped away from Itou's motionless body, letting his eyes fall upon the newcomer. The newcomer was definitely not from this time: the clothing, the actions, and even the HAIR showed that this person was definitely not normal around here. The man was clad in a rather unusual red shirt: one that Res could see was made of a material not from this world. The bottom half of the man was more Isiyan: they were relatively simple gray slacks. The man's eyes were also obviously abnormal: no human Res ever saw in his life ever had pupils of that dark, red shade. Res tacitly decided to leave the newcomer alone for now: more pressing matters were at hand.

OOC: Yes, I had permission from Cram to god-mod.

OOC: Eh heh.... .sickling. you may not know this, but Kudo HATES to lose, even if it's a little battle like this one. You may have just single-handedly taken him off the forum FOREVA!

"Woo...Pretty Colors..." Itou dizzily flew to the ground. His IDS had defended him from a fatal blow, however the sheer impact was too severe to block completely.

OOC: you're clearly taking this way too seriously, any RP is useless unless it's fun, or interesting. The style is fine, perhaps you're just annoyed at the OOCs interruptions. The actual post, take out all OOCs, is as normal as any other post. (grammar errors is just how I type, I'm not making this like an IM conversation at all) Quotations also make it seem a little weird, since ATC obviously talks and thinks differently than any of the other characters. Anyway, on to the RP.

ATC looked around just a bit more, and watched as Res swiftly knocked Itou out. Something was clearly wrong, ATC's short analysis led to the following: this robotic thing was a natural killer, the man who was just knocked out had some power over magic, and that wasn't even the start of his findings. Actually, it turns out Res had moved even faster than ATC had during his entrance. He stared at Res for a few seconds and thought, "One day that thing may be in my way, but it seems all I can do right now is be on guard. It could be possible for it to attempt something deadly to the entire area, something that wasn't a last resort." There were too many factors to go through his head right now. Something just seemed to tell him, something in his head that the men on the ground and the girl next to one of em weren't the enemy here.

He decided his mission was simple, protect himself and the others in danger, something new since he was only too used to the opposite. His motion was smooth, not sudden, as ATC moved and made his stand by the unconscious Itou. ATC rubbed some of the man's blood from the ground onto his sword, the room seemed to tremble a little as the divine metal changed into a blade with three sharp points...not as if that mattered. This blade, it could cut things harder than diamond easier than churned butter. According to it's legend from a different dimension, it was a blade of almost unmatched power, almost. The magic in it missed only a few metals, those of which were almost never used as weapon material. Everything was set, if this robotic killer was going to make his move on ATC, now would be the time, he was more than ready.

2nd OOC: If ATC is to leave, you or Cram will have to talk to me outside of this and I'll arrange it then. An RP is making a story with each person's writing styles (not formats however) having fun in the process. Thank you have a nice day. Now if you have any other problems with this (something tells me the sword may seem crazy, but it was registered with the character over a month ago, should've said something earlier)

3rd OOC (2nd Edit): are you trying to get me kicked off the RP or something? if I'm not wanted here I'll leave anytime, no problem

OOC: you're sword isn't totally epic so i personally think it should be fine. besides, a weapon can be as deadly to the wielder as the foe, especially if they don't know how to use it. Also, my 2 earlier characters could make just about anything they wanted from nothing so yeah...

2nd ooc: i ain't tryin to boot anyone

"HEY LLYUD STAY AWAKE OR I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD ON A PLAQUE THINGY!" tamah shook llyud violently, then stopped, realizing that would probably spread the poison faster. tamah took a deep breath. "let's see, he pressed here and here..." she muttered to herself as she pressed the same chi points that the itou guy pressed earlier. now there were more or less two outcomes. either certain death, because she might have needed to press different points, or she would be able to make him last for another 24 hours, as itou said. "good gods, you idiot. be right back. don't die on me or i'll somehow bring you back to life just to kill you again, okay old man?" she said darkly, and stood.

"hey, ironman! you still need to tell me why you want to kill us!" tamah shouted as she suicidly (sp) ran towards the robot thing. since attacking joints seemed to somewhat slow him down, or it was her wishful thinking, she'll attack his neck this time. or under his chin. either were good places.

she jumped onto its back once more, grabbed her more heavy duty knife from her waist, and shoved it from under its chin and through the metal chin.

ooc: sickling, this guy can't be completley immune to attacks, especially joint attacks. seriously. i don't care if he was made by gods, if he's got joints then there's a 99% chance he's at least a little weak there. everything's got an achilles' heel. so please. don't make him immune to everything. it really irritates me.

and yes you have done that (or at least made it seem like it) when tamah attacked his joints earlier. even if she wasn't completley accurate, something must have happened.

edit: sorry for the rant ^^; was tired and in a bad mood...

OOC (to Kudo): Now, that's better. Your writing has vastly improved over your last posts. I like it now.

Res felt something land on his back, and then something metal, and definitely sharp, managed to jam itself deep within his lower jaw. Res looked up. The girl, Tamah, sat perched upon his shoulders, holding the blade tightly within her grasp. The robotic assassin gave a little smirk. Res quickly grabbed dagger''s handle and wrenched it to the side, instantly shattering the feeble blade. A relatively large shard was still stuck at the bottom of his chin, but he would have to contend to that later. Res promptly lurched forward, grabbed the organism that resided on top of him, and threw the human off him. She was more agile than the others: she managed to land perfectly on the hardened soil. Res grinned. Hidden skill had always made him a little bit happier: it proved more of a challenge. He grabbed the metal fragment that was still lodged beneath his jaw, and swiftly rended the piece out of his mouth. Res experimentally began moving his mouth, but found that the area was nonreactive to his commands. The sly little human had managed to damage him.

"Ugh," Res spat. Even though he still retained the ability to speak, he could no longer move his jaw to his words. Rather irritating, but nothing serious or dire.

Res started in on the girl, who now had begun spewing various insults from that despicable little mouth of hers. Despite being artificial, Res was quite capable of feeling various human emotions. In this particular case, extreme annoyance. Res gritted his iron teeth together. The assassin pried off a dagger from behind his crimson cloak.

"I have witnessed birth and death, lived through iron and bloodshed, but I have never encountered a human whose soft skull I would love to crush within the palms of these hands," Res made a tight fist with his free hand. There was a slight screech of metal against metal.

"I see that you love to give, now RECEIVE," Res hurled the dagger at lightning speed at the girl's face. "what is yours!" The dagger flew straight and true, but the robotic assassin was not finished. Before the vicious blade had even struck the target, Res was already in midair, several more blades now flying towards Tamah.

Res landed with a silent thud on the ground, his red cloak fluttering in the wind. He turned back to his target: the unconscious Riwethuu.

"Your turn," the assassin whispered.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riwethuu's mind drifted in and out of consciousness... He could smell the sweet aroma of the beef stew his mother always used to cook, the sharp pain he received during Lumo's painful beatings, everything was there, yet not there. Did he even exist? Did this world even exist? Riwethuu slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a world of pain. Every part of his body ached, stung, or was downright agonizing. He could barely even feel his body from all the pain... until he looked down and saw that he had no body. He had become a detached consciousness? The idea slightly frightened him, until he realized the world around him was not Isiya. Everywhere was pure darkness. There was only black as far as he could see. Emptiness. The words rang in his head... Riwethuu's observations of the bleak land were cut short, as a blinding flash of light appeared before him. He brought his arm up to shield his eyes from the sheer radiance. A voice called from within the light.
"Riwethuu.... Riwethuu...." the voice called. The voice was sweet and angelic: Riwethuu could feel some of his pain leave his wracked body just from hearing the soft voice....
"H-how do you know my name...?" Riwethuu answered, surprised that he was still able to speak. He couldn't see any part of himself, yet he could still feel his existence.
"We have been waiting a long time..." the voice answered, its tone still as silky and sweet as pure honey.
"Waiting...? I-I don't understand..." At once, a piercing discomfort shot through his head: suddenly, a swarm of images flooded his mind and vision. Scenes of horror and bloodshed, dark figures slaughtering masses of screaming, writhing people, misery, filth, and disease. The array of images seemed rather bleak and hopeless... until a new set of visions entered Riwethuu's mind. Joy and happiness, the birth of a human baby, the celebration of masses, elation, euphoria, and bliss. Then, as quickly as it had begun, the visions ended. Riwethuu remained there, confused and just as oblivious as he had moments before.
"I am one of the Eternal Spirits, young one."
"E-Eternal Spirits? What are those?" Riwethuu questioned.
"We are the guardians of your kind, the vanguards of peace. In the very near future, something threatens this peace... Isiya is in grave danger."
"I-I don't understand what you have been showing me..." Riwethuu said towards the light. It seemed to have reduced in brilliance.
"Be calm, young one. What you have witnessed is the legacy of our kind... our birth, and eventual death." the light responded.
"W-what? Death? I don't understand!"
"The human race is coming to an end. An unknown force will sweep across Isiya... and annihilate all..." The light took a long pause before beginning again. The radiance briefly flickered, as if it was losing energy.
"You are gifted, Riwethuu. Within your blood, you carry an enormous gift..." Riwethuu could only wonder what the radiance was talking about.
"Gifted...?"
"The Creator, Insinuah... smiles upon you..." Insinuah? Riwethuu had heard that name before, but he had dismissed it as pure legend. Could Insinuah really exist?
"Accept our power... the Spirits are too weak to combat this force alone..." The radiance drifted closer to Riwethuu. Unable to move, he felt the light drift closer... and closer... until Riwethuu felt a strange warmth within his chest. The light now gone, Riwethuu realized how empty the void around him was... Suddenly, the same disembodied voice spoke to him.
"The power of the Eternal Spirits now flows within your veins... The fate of Isiya is at your hands."
At once, the void disappeared and was replaced by familiar sights. Isiya returned to him: the earthy ground beneath his bare feet, the smells of deep earth, and the sights of the town. Riwethuu looked down: he could see and feel his body again. He placed a hand to his shoulder, the last place he felt something hurt, and there was nothing out of the ordinary there. No wound, no pain, and most importantly, no sharp object protruding from there. In fact, Riwethuu had never felt better. Then, he caught the sight of something inhuman striding towards him, at a brisk pace. Riwethuu quickly climbed to his feet and instinctively backed away from the proceeding figure.
"S-stay back...!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Res stopped in his tracks. There was something definitely odd about the boy. He had been wounded by one of his most grievous toxins: yet the boy was still able to climb to his feet... and start walking. This was impossible. Nobody ever survived that kind of assault. To further strengthen Res's uncertainty, a strange, gold aura began to shine around the boy. The boy issued a bark of fright at him. Obviously, he was completely oblivious of the strange things happening to him... Res decided to use that to his advantage.

The assassin took one of his daggers and swiftly hurled it at the boy. His target flinched at the sudden motion, but to Res's surprise, the projectile seemed to be deflected off of thin air, away from the boy. The golden aura began to glow brighter. Res's eye's furrowed. Never before had the assassin witnessed something this odd, or strange. There had to be some sort of divine intervention.

Llyud had managed to wake up to see Tamah yelling at him but his consciuosness faded out.

He reawoke to see the metal being move toward the previously poisoned boy but the boy stood up. How? How is it that this boy could move and stand up after being poisoned, a poison that Llyud had only been able to resist temporarily.

Llyud attempted to move his arm but pain lanced across his whole body.

He winced in pain but that only caused more pain.

He lay staring at the scene unable to do anything as the metal being threw a knife at the boy.

Llyud passed out again, angry at his inability to help the doomed boy.

ooc: sorry for the rant last time! ^^;
"ha! see, metal man? all creatures have weaknesses, especially man-made creations like your tin head!" she continued to spew as many insults that came to her mind. as long as she bought some time for the others, then she had a feeling that everything would come out okay-ish.

"I have witnessed birth and death, lived through iron and bloodshed, but I have never encountered a human whose soft skull I would love to crush within the palms of these hands," the metal guy said. she frowned.

"the tin man likes to make speeches even if he doesn't have a heart, huh?" she taunted. she noted that the guy was pretty mad, so that meant the guy was programmed to have feelings. not much of an advantage, but hopefully, like a human, he could be blinded by anger. key word 'hopefully'. she was being blinded, however. he had already crushed one of her good knives, and one of her only switchblades.

she pulled out a mallet/hammer thing that she had 'jacked' (something she had overheard other pickpockets say) from a hardware store. since piercing didn't seem to work that well, maybe denting him? well, in any case, she had her hard-earned diamond knife with her, if denting him didn't work. the knife was beautifully crafted, but pitifully small. it figured. if she sold that, which she never would, she could live off that for the rest of her life. she snapped back to reality as the metal guy shouted, "now RECEIVE what is yours!"

"good gods!" she let herself fall backwards to avoid one of the knives, but dozens more came her way. she gasped as she ran from the area where the knives aimed. she dodged as many as she could, but obviously she couldn't dodge them all. one came down straight through her left shoulder, as if it was trying to amputate it. she instinctively brought her hand to her mouth to keep her from screaming in pain, and almost punctured her skin. she would definitely get a bruise. her knees buckled, but she somehow remained somewhat standing, if it was just for a minute. sure enough, her numb legs forced her to fall to her knees. trembling, she looked at the knife in her foot, and the cuts all over her body. "good gods," she repeated. she was surprised none of the other blades stuck in their target. she was a pretty lucky target. still, she couldn't bring herself to stand again.

she saw the robot thing walk towards his first target, the boy she had pulled away from a rock. she still needed an explanation for that. "hey, tin can! i'm not dead yet!" she shouted. no, she wasn't shouting. she was whispering. what she wanted to say so badly couldn't come out of her throat loud enough. did he shock her that badly? impulsively she threw the small hammer in her hand at the tin man, but she was never a really good thrower. she missed by about two or three meters. "idiot," she hissed darkly to herself. now she only had her diamond knife that was probably too small to do anything. gods, was there any way she could stop him from killing the boy? her eyes turned towards the boy, and her brows raised. the boy had a weird aura around him. not bad or anything, but different from the somewhat meek and mild boy she saw earlier. he was still shy, but there was a more powerful side to him now. she didn't know if the gut feeling was right, but she was still shocked. she pulled out her knife into her good arm just in case.

In such short time, the robot was struck by the girl, so ATC decided to take this moment to scan just a bit more. One of the guys on the floor seemed to move slightly, but then shook in pain. "He's had a point hit on him, or he's poisoned...neither of which I can save him from." ATC thought. Then, the other man, not the one ATC was guarding, got up on his feet. For some reason, even the robot was surprised. "Yup, poison, not even a robot could be that accurate on two unpredictable targets." Looking back down to the man he was standing next to, "And I already saw how this guy was taken out." he thought. At that point it was ATC's turned to be surprised from putting this together. How could this guy get up? And what's more is the dagger the robot threw at him was deflected out of nowhere. Gods perhaps? Yes, even the gods of other dimensions could work differently than what ATC had seen in the past.

The girl that had made the surprise attack earlier was heavily cut from the earlier dagger assault. "Damn, is there ANYTHING I can do to help these guys?" He had the info, know he needed a plan, how was it he could fill himself in on a good majority of what had happened and still not have any other real idea of what to do. He could protect himself but he couldn't be in two places at once, this robot could simply be too speedy for ATC to protect very much. Besides, he had to adjust a bit to his new sword shape.

OOC: This post's purpose is to bring ATC a bit more up to speed on the situation, it's actually pretty boring.

OOC: Nothing's wrong with a little observation from a character. After all, ATC just recently got introduced into the scenario...

Everything seemed fluffy, like clouds as Itou slowly regained consiousness. The ground slowly stopped spinning and everything was getting crisper by the second. His IDS aura was still pulsing to absorb the blow and it felt terrible to his chi pools. His arms still trembling, he struggled to get up onto his feet, his knees, or even on his ass. Anything to keep himself in a defensive posture. Just a s hi vision cleared up, Itou felt a distince presense. It felt warm and benevolent, yet desolate and destructive.
"Oh bloody hell, I? hope I'm not dead..." He directed his attention to a golden aura that seemed to envelop the air around him.

OOC: Remember, Itou is a monk who has been trained to see everybody's aura. If everyone can see the golden aura, It's clouding Itou's vision.

Just feeling the aura around him brought his senses back to him and dispelled the cloudiness in his mind. Though he couldn't stand up, he had enough strength to assume a meditation position and wat with delight as the assassin floundered in desperation.

Riwethuu stared in horror as he saw the assassin ready a blade in his hands. As his eyes caught the black blur that flew toward him, he instinctively threw his arms out to protect himself, eyes tightly shut. He knew he would get hit by the assassin's blade, but the pain never came. Riwethuu slowly opened his eyes, one by one.

"What the-" he gasped, having caught sight of the strange, golden glow that had enveloped his arms, legs, and entire body. Then he remembered: Could this be the power the Spirit could be talking about? Riwethuu looked down and saw the assassin's expended dagger lying on the ground, and certainly hoped it was the Spirits' power. He didn't want to be some sort of mutant or outcast... Nobody would like him... he would be alone again. And Riwethuu most certainly hoped that never happened again. His life with Lumo had been a living hell. Riwethuu briefly flinched as the horrific memories filled his mind...

"S-stop... I don't want to fight..." Riwethuu warned, holding a hand out in front of him. He hadn't noticed that the golden aura around him had begun to glow brighter...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Res stood motionless, scanning his target. The boy continued to confuse him... first it was the impressive resilience, now the boy could deflect flying daggers out of mid-air? The idea was preposterous, but it had just happened. Res was not just ready to charge into battle. For all he knew, the boy could obliterate him with blasts of energy, or simply not do anything at all. Certainly, the strange power could not protect the boy 100 percent of the time, but Res doubted the chances of that. He would have to find some way to punch a hole into that shield which protected his target.
"Don't just stand there," Res snarled. "Entertain me!" Res leapt several yards into the sky and unleashed a rain of daggers from his cloak. Res was prepared to deal with his own assault if it was turned against him...
As the assassin expected, the golden aura flared up, forming a protective dome around the boy. The daggers bounced uselessly off the golden shield, but at least they weren't flying back at him. The assassin landed in front of the boy, and delivered a powerful kick to the boy's torso. The boy seemed too frightened to even make any sort of move: he simply absorbed the blow. But much to the assassin's amazement, Res was sent flying back at incredible force. He flew for several feet before coming to a screeching halt in a nearby construction. The building shattered and collapsed as the momentum from his metallic body crushed the feeble wooden supports. Before the assassin knew it, an entire building had fallen on top of him, burying Res under a pile of rubble.
"I did NOT come this far, to be defeated by a miserable child, like YOU!" Res exploded out of the rubble that contained him, sending splinters and bits of debris flying in all directions. The assassin's hands balled into tight fists.
tamah looked around. she was still numb and couldn't stand, but she felt as if she had regained her voice. "hey! you! catch!" she threw her diamond dagger to the boy. "use it to fight against the tin can!" she shouted. "and you, tin can! i'll make more knives out of your useless body when you're turned into scrap metal! you hear me?" she demanded. she was buying time again.
was that all she was good for? years ago she always bought time for kiki and herself to run away from government officials, not too long ago, before her small time gang was killed, she bought time, and now she was buying time. she shook her head, erasing the thoughts. you can be depressed later, tamah she told herself. right now you need to survive.
she hated trying to survive all the time.
"Wait a second" Itou concentrated on the boy's golden aura. "Lord Unitos!" (yoo-nih-tohs)
---
Lore: Unitos the Universe
There is a sect, far atop a distant mountain range that believes that a god called Unitos created everything from the dust upon the barren earth. He is said to bask in golden rays and impervious to all attacks. He is also mentioned to have the power to take any form he wished to walk the earth.
---
Itou fell to one knee and held his prayer beads, "I am at your command my lord."
OOC: NOOOOO....
It's not Lord Unitos. If you read one of my previous posts, you would understand that the power that is giving Riwethuu (Riwu for short) his golden aura is the power of the Spirits. Unless Itou simply BELIEVES that this is Lord Unitos, then that's perfectly fine.
Riwethuu struggled to understand the situation unfolding before him. First, the assassin had just attempted to round-house kick him, but was thrown back with incredible force, and now the Itou man was kneeling in front of him. Could this day get any weirder...? Riwethuu, deep inside, doubted the possibility of that.
"L-Lord Unitos? I don't think I've heard that name before..." Riwethuu stuttered. "Uhh... you can stand up now... I think you're confused with someone else." He placed his hands onto the man's waist and tried hoisting the man up, to little avail. Riwethuu soon found his untrained arms were too weak to lift the man from his kneeling position. His eyes narrowed in frustration.
Meanwhile, the assassin slipped into the darkness, unnoticed.
OOC: Short post, I know.
PS: Yes, Itou just believes it is Unitos. Sorta like a "Virgin Mary in The Toast" case.
Itou looked at the savior in disbelief. "The Divine is helping me?" He shifted his head down out of respect and told the diety, "I am at your command my lord..."
OOC: a little short, even for me but, typing on a DSi is HARD
OOC: YPU CAN USE A DSi TO PST ON TEH INTERNET!!! HOLY SNAPPLE JACKS!
IC:Llyud was dreaming.
In his dream there was nothing to see. There was nothing to hear. There was nothing to smell. There was nothing to feel. He could no tspeak either.
He was trapped in a world where he was blind, deaf, and dumb with the added inabitlity to speak or smell.
He just seemed to float there. Perhaps it was the poison in him.
Perhaps his body was trying to fight it off and so put him in this "state."
Llyud wanted out, but then he realized what waited for him in the real world. Him, in horrible pain. The boy, doomed to death. Tamah, most likely hurt.
But then, Llyud could feel a glowing prescence. Two actually, one stronger than the other which was also more distant to him. he reached out his arm in an attempt to grab either one and he grasped the weaker of the two.
Llyud rushed back in to consciousness. He still lay on the floor except now his eyes were open and he was grabbing his bow. He could see a feel the second glowing prescence coming from the doomed (but for some reason not dead) boy.
He could feel the power of his ancestors bow giving him back his strength and he sat up.
Llyud coughed and spoke, "What happened?"
OOC: not really much i can do
Riwethuu felt peaceful. The assassin seemed to have disappeared into nothingness, and all was quiet. The gentle wind blew a calm breeze across the dull wasteland. Riwethuu took a seat down on the dirt floor, crunching up some of the earth as he did so. The recent incursion of the robot menace had certainly thrown his life off into a radical path. In a way, he felt a little bit thankful. Had the assassin had not come to kill him, he might have been stuck living in this mudhole for the rest of his life. Riwethuu took another cursory look at the bleak, mud-colored earth around him, and that quickly reminded him he didn't want to stay here a minute longer.
"So.... where are we headed?" he inquired.
His question was soon answered. Riwethuu felt a burning sensation tear through his body, sending rays of golden light from his eyes and mouth. He opened his mouth to yell, but all that came out was a ray of brilliant light. His entire body began to glow: the burning seemed to come out of his pores. Then, Riwethuu stopped fighting. Black enveloped his vision, and the boy was welcomed with a silent peace in a realm of darkness. His body went limp briefly, and crumpled for a second, but suddenly righted itself, as if it was pulled by invisible strings of magic. Riwethuu's body stood up straight, then slowly rose into the air, the body continuing to glow an ethereal shine. After it had reached a few feet into the air, it halted its ascent. Brilliant beams of light shot out from Riwethuu's eyes and open mouth, as it suddenly began speaking, with a voice not his own.
"Greetings, humans." the voice began, with a strangely benevolent tone.
"I sense that the dark presence in the area has fled... I shall be brief. There is no knowing whether the darkness may return." Riwethuu's body turned to face Raeroke, who had taken grievous wounds in the previous engagement. The priest was slumped against a rock, struggling to breathe as he pulled the knives out of his body. Riwethuu's body shuddered, as if it felt some of the pain itself. The body then turned to Ellenire, in the bar.
"You there, young one," it spoke, emitting rays of light from its mouth. "You are not from this world... is there anything you can do to help this man?"
PostSubject: Re: Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirits   Tue Jun 16, 2009 2:51 pm
In spite of being one of the better fighters that he’d ever known, Raeroke wasn’t exactly the most…focused person in the world. Hell, he was probably one of the most easily distracted people in the world. Not something that he had really learned to appreciate over the course of various things happening to him. Most of them had been along the lines of getting himself punched in the face, stabbed in the ribs, and perhaps a few other unpleasant injuries that would probably have been avoided had he been smart enough to stay focused.
Unfortunately, with Elennire mad at him, Raeroke was distracted even as the sound of whistling knives got closer to him. He glanced up just in time to see the wall of daggers heading at him. The priest blinked and immediately brought his hands up to protect as many of his vitals as he could, and a good dozen or so projectiles found their way into his body as a result. Under normal circumstances, it wouldn’t have been a problem. He’d been injured before, but that moment was certainly not normal circumstances. Raeroke noticed too late that his muscles were getting heavy and suddenly he was down and out for the count. The last thing he thought about before collapsing under his own weight was how Elennire would react if she saw him in a pool of blood…
Meanwhile, the girl in question happened to be observing the battle from a safer spot within the bar. Something had told her that the outside was going to get dangerous. In reality, it hadn’t actually been the Glory that had sensed the danger reaching out, but the little consciousness that Jean had been able to contain within the bands themselves. Elennire had just moved out of the way subconsciously while using anger as an excuse to leave. Unfortunately, Raeroke hadn’t caught onto that, and by the time Elennire looked back out the door, it was already too late to help him.
Emerald eyes widened as a large amount of projectiles pierced the man in various areas, and while the Glory realized they were unlikely to have hit any vitals, she was still unable to restrain a cry. Despite the fact that her first instinct was to run over to Raeroke and blast away any opposition, her body refused to move, freezing to its place. Her muscles were tense and shivering, and Elennire knew why. Hemophobia. It had been fine earlier on, hell, it should have been fine then, but something within her froze and Elennire wasn’t able to move forward. Wide-eyed and terrified, the bright-haired girl found that her voice refused to work again and time seemed to move in slow motion as Raeroke crumpled to the ground unmoving.
’I-it can’t be…’ the thought rang out in an empty mind and Elennire gave a hesitant whisper. ”Rokey…?” Her body shivered and refused to take in any other part of the battle. Her priest wasn’t moving. From where she was standing, it didn’t look like he was even breathing. Elennire found herself praying that he would get up, trying hard to force her body to move forward, but despite her best efforts, neither she nor her companion reacted to her hopes. Something in her chest hurt and heat prickled at her eyes. ”Th-this isn’t possible…h-he should have been protected…he sho—no…”
She remembered then. Raeroke might not have any protection from the others. They weren’t in Raensil or near Skallan grounds. Her heart began to race while her hands started to tremble. Pain shot through her body, an emotional tearing that felt worse than any physical pain she’d ever felt. The girl had only heard stories about it. When a priestess of the Skallan religion believed their priest was dead, an emotional pain tore them apart from the inside out. Apparently it was ten times worse for a Glory. Tears of both pain and anguish squeezed from between the girl’s eyelids and her body trembled.
’Rokey…I can’t breathe…’
’Hmm…you look like you’re in a bit of a pinch…’
’…Jean…?’
’Look up, fool…Skallan charms and magic live as long as their casters, no longer where the target is. Your priest is still living.’
Elennire’s eyes shot open and she looked out the door again, her eyes still wet with freshly shed tears. A comforting feeling spread from her back, and she assumed Jean had managed to push her way out of the bands to comfort her in the wild pain that had flared up only moments before. For a moment, there was nothing but more battle to take in, but suddenly, Elennire understood why Jean had told her to look up. He was moving. Something restored itself and just as suddenly as it had come, all the pain had disappeared. Her voice was lost for a moment and suddenly the angellite shouted at her priest.
”Rokey, idiot! D-don’t get distracted!” the girl shouted while wiping her eyes. It felt strange. A sense of relief that she’d never once had to feel before. If this was how it felt for a priest to lose their priestess, then there were about a million things that Elennire had to apologize to Raeroke for. The bright-haired girl was about to rush out to help, but was stopped by a loud shout from her companion.
”Who’re you calling an idiot?! Don’t come out here!” the words were faint, but Elennire could still hear them. She froze in place and wondered why Raeroke would tell her not to go. They were used to fighting together, and Elennire had always been able to help, but the priest had his reasons. There was blood everywhere, pouring down his arms, his legs, and from the coppery taste filling his mouth, there was probably some creeping down the sides of his mouth. From the distance she was at, Elennire couldn’t see it, but Raeroke had learned of her terror of blood long ago. Especially his. There was something strange about his blood that made the girl wince and tremble, flinch and freeze. He hated being the cause of terror. The man staggered away from the fight that seemed to be in its ending stages and leaned heavily against the boulder he had thrown earlier. After a moment of resting to catch his breath, the man ground his teeth together and began to pull the knives still jammed into him. He hissed in pain as the blade moved out of his body and he tossed it to the floor. The fact that his healing wasn’t quite that grand kept him from making any excessive movements, but Raeroke continued his attempts to treat himself. Poison still ran through his veins, and had he not been stupid enough to eat poisonous mushrooms every day for a week, he’d probably have been dead. Gold eyes closed and sweat began to form visibly on the slightly tanned man as he pulled another few knives from his arms. The poison was starting to get to him.
The charms and protection were all working at full power at that moment judging from the sheer amount of warmth that seemed to be coursing through his body. They were stopping the poison and battling it, but there wasn’t enough to battle all the toxin that had entered his blood stream at once. Raeroke found that breathing was getting harder and he stopped trying to pull the knives and daggers from his body and tried hard to take in enough breath for his body. It wasn’t working. His vision swam and his head whirled in circles…and he swore, he was going to end up seeing Sakella in her court...again. There were words being spoken and he couldn't quite tell what they were. His vision blurred the image of whoever was talking and all he knew was that somehow Elennire was going to be involved. He gave a slightly rasping gasp and growled at whoever it was talking, though he couldn't really say anything. A warning. Regardless of the pain in his body, he would still get back up and fight if his Glory was in danger...
...but a hand touched his shoulder. It trembled in fear, terror...Raeroke glanced up and saw, with a little worry in his countenance, that Elennire had moved to him at some point. She looked about as pained as he was, and her breathing was just as labored. Raeroke swore mentally. The girl was in pain, pain, and it was because he'd been distracted.
Skallan teaching
"Sakella and her court were connected by fate to the table of Tyrin, and for each ailment and pain dealt to the table, one of her court would take the same." --Twelfth verse of the Lunaris
Shared pain :: Every priest and priestess must share a connection in the same manner as Tyrin's table and Sakella's court.
Elennire couldn't breathe at that moment, and it took a vast amount of effort to stand beside her priest. More than that, it took a lot of effort to keep from shrinking back at the blood that seemed to be flooding from her priest. Trying not to gag at the scent of blood and in an attempt to keep her eyes off the crimson liquid, she kept her emerald gaze on the possessed boy. At that moment, the Glory was glad that her moments of possession weren't nearly as bad (or flashy) as his. Her body didn't change, only her actions and attitude. Her eyes stayed focused and unwavering, or at least, to the best of their ability. "You're right. I'm not from this world, but I have no access to the healing magics of Sakella's court. I am the angellite of Jean D'arcen, second angel of Sakella's court and holder of the title 'Angel of War'. There is nothing I can do for my priest other than share his pain." the words had taken more effort to say than Elennire was letting on. She was close to choking, her breath was coming short...but there were no Skallans around to help heal Raeroke, so she would suffer with him until death did they part.
[[ooc:: Yes, I actually have Skallan teachings. Enough to fill a small novel. Steal them and I'll hurt you, because this religion was freaky hard to make D': ]]
The Eternal Spirit taking temporary residence in the Riwethuu's body felt a little tinge of sadness in the boy's heart. These two were closely bonded: they would be inseparable until the end. Such commitment truly touched the Spirit... he would have to do something to assist these earthbound people. He drifted closer to the grieving woman.
"Young one... Your friend will not perish, but he will be crippled." the Spirit spoke. He placed a comforting hand onto her shoulder, intending to instill some hope in a traumatized body.
"But there is still hope for him... I do know a place where we can help your.... fri- I mean, other." The Spirit reconsidered his choice of words... these two seemed much closer than mere friends. And yet they were not from this particular plane of reality. It was definitely uncommon, but the Spirit had seen this before. Normally, it was a lone dimension traveler that only stopped by for a few minutes, before leaping into another plane, and it was ever so rare to find a dimension-hopping couple. The Spirit felt warm and fuzzy, someplace not inside the boy's body.
"There is nothing here for any of you in this desolate land. Travel westward, as far as your feet will take you. On the other side of Isiya, lies the Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirits. Somewhere along your path, you will find help for your friend." The Spirit's evanescent glow began to flicker. The shine emanating from Riwethuu's body faltered and started to lose its gleam.
"My power is waning... I must leave you. Do make haste... I do not know how much longer your friend has left...." the Spirit spoke, its voice now only a mere whisper. Suddenly, the light was instantly cut off. Riwethuu's body abruptly stopped hovering, and dropped to the ground in a slump. His body made a small thud as his unconscious body hit the firm earth.
Riwthuu fumbled with his eyelids, a throbbing headache pounding on his skull.
"Ughhhh..." he moaned, rubbing his hand against his head. His head hurt like his own blood was thrashing against his brain. The boy slowly got to his feet.
"W-what happened?"
"tamah, wake up! breakfast!"
"nngh, i'm so tired though. Five more minutes," tamah muttered, rolling over. Kiki sighed, left the meat over the fire, and dragged heryounger sister out from where she slept.
"last time you said that you slept fifty mintues longer. C'mon, it's not like you need to wash up or anything. Beside's i think that they might be on our trail again, so we need to get moving, 'kay?" kiki sighed. the thought of them following them again made tamah shudder and wake up a little.
"fine. i can walk myself, you know."
"good, cuz you're getting heavy."
"i'm not fat!"
"i didn't say fat. i said heavy. Now eat. i don't care how many bats are in here, they're hard to catch, and you need to catch a lot to fill up stomachs like ours."
"you didn't need to remind me what we're eating," tamah frowned. kiki snorted.
"it's what an older sister does. now c'mon, we need to go," kiki lead tamah out of the cave into a brilliant flash of light.
tamah woke from her dream. or was she still in it? she felt an unrealistic type of pain, like something was slowing her down and that something cold and hot was crawling under her skin and trying to get to her throat. mentally, she pulled the crawling thing away from her throat but it didn't help. she hallucinated of water and food, of something cool and refreshing. her throat was still dry and crawling. she wanted to cry for help, but barley a whisper came out. still, she continued to try. "someone, help. please," her voice was weak and feeble, desperate. she hated sounding this way.
PostSubject: Re: Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirits   Thu Jun 18, 2009 6:55 pm
A.T.C. was a little dazed from everything that happened oh so quickly. The robot had gotten damaged and fled as quickly as it most likely came. (ooc: remember ATC wasn't here from the start so he can only assume) But before he could observe much more, some words caught his ear. "...Travel westward, as far as your feet will take you. On the other side of Isiya, lies the Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirits..." There it was, the Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirit he had heard from the crazy old man at the village border, the voice came in the direction of the boy who had magically deflected the robots daggers in midair minutes earlier (and was glowing rather radiantly).
"So it's plural now is it?" A.T.C. thought quietly to himself. "Westward, eh? Well, that was lucky, I was heading southeast for a moment there...but as far as my feet can take me..after all that sprinting just to get here, I'm pretty tired out. I'll have to keep a close watch on this boy..."
He took one last look around, "Crap, why did it have to be poison? I mean cuts and wounds you can just cover with clothing but I'm not fit for healing any of these guys." There was simply nothing he could do for them. Nothing, hell he HAD a few things that might have helped the situation in his bag, had it not been stolen. "The ruby charm for if I wanted to throw my sword...damn, I don't even have that anymore."
He left with only a small thought. "All of those dying people...ugh, I've only killed a grand total of four people in my travels (everyone else just runs away), there can only be a few definite survivors there, the boy, and the guy I stood by...I'm sorry everyone, you're all on your own." And with that he went to the side of what was left of the bar in his first watch to silently stalk the peculiar boy.
OOC: for some reason (possibly multiple), I dislike this post, but really guys, find a way to deal with the poison and GET OUT OF THE FREAKING BAR ALREADY
PostSubject: Re: Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirits   Sat Jun 20, 2009 2:31 pm
[[ooc:: Well...they aren't very far from it...I guess...]]
Elennire was anything but strong at most times. She relied on Raeroke to help her get by when they'd been in their own dimension, and apparently the one they were in was just as dangerous, is not more so. At that moment, the girl wanted nothing more than to be back in her temple at Asidu, the Skallan village that was home to the Southern Glory since Sakella herself was made into a goddess. The day that she had been granted power by the mysterious one that seemed capable of making even Tyrin bow down to his or her will. The girl wanted to be nestled snugly in a blanket with Raeroke reading more of the teachings to her as a friendly fire crackled in its place, warming the angellite after a flight through the clouds. She wanted to be where the friendly faces would smile and wave at her, like she was some sort of hero to them...where it was peaceful and there were teams to deal with whatever danger headed in the doorless village's direction.
But that was a wish that wasn't going to be coming true until she got off the unloved chunk of land she was on and back to the right dimension, and that wasn't going to happen without Raeroke by her side. The spirit that was speaking to her was gentle, kind even. It's touch was meant to be gentle, and from that touch, Elennire could feel something. It wasn't something like hope, for that was the feeling that Elennire had felt when she was in the orphanage every time someone came to visit. When the possessed boy referred to Raeroke as Elennire's "other", it took all the girl's self control not to deny that he was anything more than a friend...or maybe a dorky older brother. It was something that post people brought up. "Good chemistry" was often assumed between the two. It was then that the spirit said something.
"A sanctuary to the west?" Elennire froze. She didn't like the west in her own world. That was where the Western Glory resided, and it just so happened that the Western Glory was a human that represented the Angel of Time. Jean had offended that particular angel when Tyrin had turned his rage on the Invisible Angels. How ironic that he murdered the closest friends of the very woman he chased. However, the girl needed only to feel the pain building up against her chest to remind her that Raeroke was in immediate danger. If she couldn't help him then, then what use was she as a Glory? The girl absentmindedly rubbed at her palms, feeling the strange scars that nobody but she and Raeroke could see. Prophet Cherise had thought that the scars were unsightly and put an illusionary charm onto them. Only those she told of the scars would be able to see them. Elennire had been indignant at that time, angry that she should have to pretend that her signs of suffering didn't exist, but the girl hadn't resisted. Shortly after the advice to hurry, Elennire was once again standing in front of a boy who was confused and apparently no longer possessed. In spite of her great desire to grab the boy by the shoulders and shake him like mad in order to pull the spirit back, the Glory held herself in check. She took a shuddering breath and spoke in a soft voice.
"We're going west..." she stated. There was no way that she was going to remain in that area. Not after hearing what the spirit had to say. After all, in her time, she'd learned that metaphysical being tended to be wiser than humans for the most part. Her left knee almost buckled under her weight, and Elennire scowled. She could barely move. How far were her feet going to be able to take her? And what the hell was Isiya?! It didn't matter. She didn't know which was west was, so she'd have to follow someone. But first, the girl decided that making herself capable of moving was more important.
'But how am I supposed to do that? If Rokey's feeling this way, then there's no doubt that I will too...' Elennire thought while pushing her mind for what she could do. It was then that the all-familiar voice of Jean pushed back into her mind. The Angel of War's voice was calm. Blunt, even.
'Renounce your title and get it back after your return. I'm sure Sakella wouldn't mind,' the voice claimed. Elennire hesitated at that thought, but before she could say anything, the consciousness locked into her bands accused her of the truth. 'You don't want to renounce your position. Without it, you won't have power anymore, but in all honesty, what power do you have here?'
Elennire couldn't answer that question. She remained silent, but refused to renounce her position. Religion was one of the few things that kept her going after being nailed to a wall. It was one of the few things that Rokey actually admired her for. Religion had given her the priest, and she didn't want the lack of one to take him away. Instead, she kept her silence and hastily removed the robe, revealing her not-so-modest spandex underneath and with a bit of a struggle, tried to move Raeroke onto the cloth. Her muscles tensed up and fought against her as her eyes took in the sight of blood, and every second made the girl want to throw up. She was so scared. The feel, the sight, the smell...blood terrified her, and despite her best efforts, the girl wasn't able to get over it. The priest gave a soft groan and pulled away from Elennire's hands.
"...s'...fine..." the man claimed. It was a lie, but at least the words were an attempt to keep the horrified Glory away from him. No longer careful in his own treatment, the man pulled the remaining knives from his body, grunted a little, and then attempted to get to his feet, but was hastily stopped by his Glory. Her voice's worried quality made him freeze in his tracks and the feeling of light heat searing his skin made him realize what the Glory was doing. She was using Jean's abilities to close up his wounds...temporarily at least. Unable to find an argument against that, Raeroke allowed Elennire to finish what she wanted and promptly attempted to struggle to his feet again.
"You're not recovered," the Glory stated bluntly. He couldn't hide any symptoms from her, being that if he got sick then Elennire would shre his symptoms. The man gave a soft mumble, something about how he would just work the poison out of his system. That he was used to not being able to breathe after having his ribs broken so many times. A pang of guilt resounded in Elennire's gut. Even if she said things like that, he didn't have much time with so much venom coursing through his veins. Even if she said that he should let someone else move him, she was definitely not strong enough to do anything like carry the man along, and her inability to get oxygen back into her system just made it that much harder. The girl had no idea what to do, but instinctively she offered her hand to Raeroke. "I can try doing a time lag on your blood, but you'll be..."
She didn't want to say it, but Raeroke already understood. Having a time lag done on something so selective within someone's body was dangerous. People tried doing such things on their organs to gain weight, or on their heart to extend their life span. Elennire's suggestion was done only to extend the lifespan of one that was poisoned beyond healing. Raeroke finished the sentence for his Glory. "Crippled." Elennire gave a grave nod of her head. But still the man realized the need for some sort of aid, and without any healing magics, Elennire's small mastery over what little the Western Glory had taught her would have to be enough. He nodded a little weakly, and suddenly, a sluggish feeling rose through his body. Emerald eyes had started to emanate a slight purple. A sign that the "magic" being used was not her own. It seemed that the Invisible Angels' abilities were still able to be used in the strange land. That much was a good sign. Shortly afterwards, Raeroke was able to breathe again and he got to his feet, albeit it was with a little struggle.
"That should hold for a while...but you'll probably only be at a third of your maximum strength. You might be able to outmatch most people in strength and endurance, but you're about at the level of a class 3 strike member..." Elennire claimed, not caring if nobody understood what she meant other than the priest. She was sweating at that point, and she had to take deep breaths to try and regain her sense of balance. She could breathe at that point, but her head was spinning. A dimension-swap and a time-lag in the same day? The girl was exhausted beyond belief and amazed that her legs were still supporting her weight. Wiping some sweat from her brow, she turned towards the others. "Which way's west? I can't be certain my sense of direction is accurate in this place."
If it wasn't obvious, Elennire didn't think there was time to waste in getting to whatever the "Sanctuary of the Eternal Spirits" was, regardless of how tired or injured she was. Raeroke needed help, and he needed it fast if he wanted the effects of the time lag to wear off quickly.
OOC: Not quite, Res was thrown in there to get you guys to do something and move the storyline (AND get you guys out)...it moved the storyline but...now we've got this poisoned/unconscious problem. General situation...around half the people are down and out for awhile...A.T.C. is again just outside waiting for you guys to get your act cleaned up and get the heck out of there (this means, besides OOCs such as this, I won't be posting for awhile)
Riwethuu didn't know how long he had been walking. The endless wasteland just seemed to stretch on and on for all of eternity. The sun was high in the sky and continued to beat down on him with its sizzling rays. Riwethuu wiped the copious sweat dribbling from his forehead with a tired arm. He wasn't sure how much farther his weary legs could take him. They could take a break, but where? For miles in all directions, was barren mud and rock. There was no cover. No water. No anything. Their little excursion seemed pointless and doomed. They couldn't turn back, either. They had passed the little town of Dura several hours ago. They were too far to go back. There was only one way to go, no matter how idiotic or foolish it seemed... forward.
Well, the brighter side was that they managed to temporarily cure the others of their crippling assassin's poison by tying a strange cloth around their wounds, courtesy of Itou. It seemed like magic, because once the cloth touched the infected skin the symptoms alleviated immediately. Riwethuu was impressed: he had never seen anything like that in his life. Well, he had to admit he hadn't seen many things in his life anyway. It was unfortunate, however: the others had tried the same method to cure the priest, Raeroke, but it proved to be futile. His blood had been "time-lagged," according to his otherworldly comrade, the sharp-eyed and equally sharp-tongued girl whose name continued to dodge Riwethuu. Ellennire? Or was it Venalise? Riwethuu couldn't remember.
"H-how much longer are we going...?" Riwethuu inquired. It was a useless question... but he just had to ask.
Hours had passed. Long, hard hours. Elennire and Raeroke still walked side-by-side, as if nothing had happened. The only downside of the entire situation was the fact that they would probably be unable to cover their normal distance. Not only because Raeroke's stamina and strength had vastly decreased--meaning of course, he wouldn't be doing his usual unwelcome act of scooping a passed out Glory in his arms long after the sun had set and walking with her. A thought that wasn't exactly all that bad--but simply because of the number of people. They were all healed for the time being, but regardless of the cloth, Elennire doubted Raeroke's condition would have been healed. He tended to have a less-than-helpful immunity for things that would have healed a normal person, which often made the Glory wonder if Raeroke was even human. A bead of sweat formed on the girl's brow and she wiped it a swipe of her arm.
"Kind of reminds me of home," Elennire claimed while giving a soft bexhalation of air. She was still feeling fine as far as her physical condition went. The orphanage she'd gone and asked her parents to dump her in after the discovery of her not-so-human lineage had been located practically in the middle of nowhere, and when Raeroke had gone and adopted her, he didn't have a ride back to the village he originated from. The walk had toughened Elennire up. She and Raeroke tried not to alienate themselves from the group, but found that there was nothing much to talk about. Not even to each other.
Raeroke was feeling awkwardly sluggish, unable to move at his maximum potential and feeling lazier than usual. He didn't want to bother Elennire, who was probably exhausted from everything she'd done that day, but at the same time, he didn't quite want to talk to the others walking with him. He stuck to his Glory's side like there was some sort of magnetic attraction between the two. Elennire, on the other hand, was not only tired and grouchy, but also pressured with stress, worry, guilt, and still quite mad that Raeroke couldn't seem to get her name right. He'd confused everyone, calling her Elennire or some variation of it one moment and then calling her Venalise the next. Hell, if Elennire hadn't known her own name, even she might be confused.
Elennire took another step, dragging her robe behind her and not really caring that it was dragging on the floor. The cloth was crap, the robe was replaceable, and in all seriousness? It was really dead weight. She would have gotten rid of it already, but Raeroke was adamant that she keep it. It was then that the boy decided to ask the oh-so-predictable question. How far? Well, Elennire sure as hell didn't know that answer, and she was ninety-five percent certain that Raeroke wouldn't know the answer either. Grouchy and too tired to care much for her tongue or attitude, the girl gave her response.
"Until we reach civilization or find a place to set up camp," she grumbled. Blunt and to the point, Elennire had never been one to beat around the bush. "If you're tired, have someone drag you or something. We don't have time to stop." Under normal circumstances, Elennire would have told the boy to just drop out if he couldn't handle the strain of walking, but he was the one that had been possessed and the spirit might come through him again. They couldn't afford not to have that plus. Besides that, Raeroke had offered to take the boy on the journey, so if Elennire tried to boot him, she'd have to face that "pleaaase?" look on her priest's face again. She hated that face. Unwilling to elaborate on her answer, Elennire continued plodding onwards, wishing like mad that she could just take off and fly, but knowing that she couldn't exactly carry five people with her if she tried to.
